It’s been a tough season. As farmers ourselves, we understand how hard this can be on the agriculture industry as a whole. The adverse weather conditions have made planting and understanding what to do if you’ve missed your crop planting deadlines challenging to say the least.
If you, or growers you know, have missed your corn and soybean planting deadlines, we encourage you to take action and still plant cover crops with GraphEx SA this year. Not only will GraphEx SA for cover crops help capture and increase your nitrogen levels, but it will enhance your organic soil matter – helping farmers get more out of both their soil and next year’s crops.

Don’t Leave Fields Bare – Farmers Still Have Options
Since fields flooded for more than one week decrease nitrogen fixation and the availability of bacteria, it’s important farmers don’t leave fields bare. On acres not planted, weed pressure will continue to increase and germinate for years to come.
USDA officials are recognizing the severity and impact the weather has had on farmers, too. To ensure livestock producers have adequate feed supplies, they have implemented a one-year adjustment for farmers who plant cover crops on prevent plant acres – permitting them to hay, graze or chop those fields on Sept. 1, 2019 instead of Nov. 1, 2019. Contact your local FSA office for details.
